Why does the US have Iran's Kharg Island in its sights?
US President Trump has warned that he will reconsider targeting Iran's oil facilities if Iran interferes with the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait, located between Iran and Oman, is a critical shipping channel. Trump's warning came after Iran threatened to "do something" to block the passage.
Trump, however, warned that he would reconsider the decision not to target oil facilities on the island should Iran or others "do anything to interfere" with the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz - one of the world's most important shipping channels, located south of Iran's coast.
